At SmilePlease, we believe school photos should not be a source of stress. Between the pressure of picture day, the stiff poses, and the expensive packages for photos you might not even like, the tradition was due for a change.
Our story
SmilePlease was founded by Adam Grenier, a parent of three who, like many others, experienced the frustration of school photo day. The forced smiles. Missed days. Wrong outfits. A few near-identical choices from one limited setup. The expensive packages for photos that didn't capture your child's real personality.
After years in product development and technology, Adam combined his experience with advances in AI to create something better: a way for parents to capture their child's genuine smile at home and transform it into a professional school portrait in seconds.
SmilePlease launched in 2025 with a simple mission: make school photos about the child, not the process.

We use advanced AI to turn a simple photo taken in your living room into a professional, print-ready school portrait—all in less than two minutes.

Our values
Privacy first
Your photos are your photos. We delete uploaded photos within 10 days of generation—we don't keep your originals. Generated portraits are deleted after 30 days (or 12 months if you purchase and want to re-order). We don't use your photos to improve our technology or share them with others. We follow strict federal privacy laws for children under 13 (COPPA). See our Privacy Policy.

Our promise
We want you to be thrilled with your portraits. Every print is produced on professional heavyweight paper, independently certified to last 100+ years and sustainably sourced—tested by the Fine Art Trade Guild to last 100+ years without fading. If your prints arrive damaged/defective, or if final output materially fails to match approved preview and child-likeness expectations, we'll make it right with a replacement or refund under policy.
